Every time I build a new MVP, email ends up being way more annoying than it should be. I usually just need to send a welcome email or a password reset, but most providers feel like full-blown marketing platforms now.
So I’m playing with the idea of a very simple email API: no newsletters, no dashboards, no segments. Just sending and receiving emails via API.

Hello. I am the creator of IdeaVote and I evaluate every idea that is posted here.
Sending emails is the part of the project that I don't really want to work on. There are already new start-ups that solve this problem (as mentioned in the comments below). But in my opinion, some users would be happy if the functionality were even simpler and included only a few endpoints (for example, sending emails and webhooks for receiving emails). I would definitely use such a service.
